                                                              You were born a genius

“Everyone is born a genius, but the process of living de-geniuses them”. These are the words of Richard Buckminister Fuller and they are more important today than at any time in history.

NASA conducted a study in 1968 that confirms Fuller’s statement and the Authentic Identity Theory. We are born geniuses and the institutions of society dumb us down in an effort of conformity. The educational system is a primary culprit because their mission is to educate to the demands of those in power and not to the demands of your own genius. The educational system really dumbs people down instead of enlightening us to our own brilliance and potential.

In 1968 NASA conducted a study that gave a creativity test to 1,600 children between the ages of 4 and 5. The same tests are given astronauts. The test evaluates the ability to come up with new, different, and innovative ideas to problems. 98% of the children fell in the genius category of imagination. They were shocked at the results and decided to conduct a longitudinal study. Five years later they tested the children again. What they discovered was disappointing and revealing. The findings revealed that only 30% of the 10-year-olds fell in the genius category of imagination. Five years later only 12% of the 15-year-olds fell in the genius category. The same test was conducted, by George Land, Ph.D., on 280,000 adults with an average age of 31. The findings revealed only 2% of adults fell into the creative genius category.

What we can determine from these finds that non-creative behavior is learned. “The reasoning for this is not too difficult to apprehend; school, as we plainly call it, is an institution that has historically been put in place to ultimately serve the wants of the ruling class, not the common people. In order for the so-called elite to maintain their lavish lifestyles of overt luxury – where they contribute the least and enjoy the most – they understand that children must be dumbed down and brainwashed to accept (and even serve) their rapacious system of artificial scarcity, unending exploitation, and incessant war.” Gavin Nascimento

It is the position of Best You and the hypothesis of the Authentic Identity Theory that we can recapture our creative genius. Children can hold onto to their inherent genius. Our brain lights us and is energized when it uses divergent thinking. Divergent thinking is our imagination. The brain lights up when thinking of new possibilities and solutions. Brain studies have proven this point. It is no longer debatable. We use a smaller part of the brain when we operate under fear, discouragement, or negative criticism. When we are constantly judging, thinking negative, or criticizing the brain neurons are fighting each other and it diminishes our brainpower. Convergent thinking, decision-making, evaluations, and judgments are necessary for survival but the degree to which we use convergent thinking determines much of our life’s path. Fear, anxiety, and angst are counterproductive to your inherent greatness.

We need the real you

Our inherent greatness never goes away. We are the same creative genius we were at 5 years old. Uncover it. Don’t be afraid of your possibilities. Don’t be afraid of you. This planet, our country, and you are at a crossroads. Our planet, our country, and you need your genius. For too long we have allowed our genius to be subservient to the demands and desires of institutions that no longer serve the populace. Allow the inherent genius within you to be present in your life. This is the only way to repair the damage done to mother earth, our Republic, and you. Be the genius you were born to be. Stop living in fear and obedience. Live a creative life. Live a life full of possibilities. Live the life of your dreams.

Action step:

1) The next time someone speaks harshly at you, agree with them, don’t argue, don’t defend, just agree. Thank them. This allows your brain to maintain control and encourage creativity.

2) The next time you take a trip, regardless of how far, determine how many routes you could have traveled.

3) Take the cardboard roll, once all the toilet tissue is used, and determine what other uses may be derived from that cardboard. Ne creative and use your imagination.
